Academic Advising for majors/minors/certificates is provided by each program/department’s Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS). The Academic Advising Center (AAC) provides synopses of major advising via this page and overarching advising support can be provided by a Director of Academic Engagement (DAE). There are also Trinity Ambassadors who offer informal peer advising and Peer Success Leaders who work with Academic Guides to support fellow students in their academic journeys.
Specialized advising support for students interested in arts or humanities disciplines and degree credentials is provided by the Director of Academic Engagement (DAE) for the Arts and Humanities, Dr. Cara Kozma. You can meet with a DAE in any field of interest, you do not need to be pursuing a degree credential to benefit from their advice.
If you are an incoming, undeclared, or transfer student, you can seek general advising from the AAC on their website, or by emailing advising@duke.edu. The Academic Advising Center takes questions throughout the academic year and during the summer. They also host a yearly Majors Fair (usually after Fall Break) where students can visit with DUSes from all over Trinity.
If you are a sophomore exploring majors or a recently declared student trying to plan your next semesters, this page describes general advising tools that you can use on your own or with the support of your college or major advisor or a DAE.
